OOCL launches new Far East to Chennai route service

Orient Overseas Container Line Company Limited (OOCL) recently announced the launch of Far East-Chennai Service Route 3 (FCS3), which aims to strengthen the connection between southern China, Southeast Asia and eastern India. The service has officially opened on December 6, 2024, providing customers with an efficient and reliable transportation option to cope with the increasing trade demand between these dynamic markets.

The specific port sequence of calling for the FCS3 route is as follows: Nansha, Shekou-Ho Chi Minh City-Laem Chabang-Port Klang-Chennai-Nansha.

Located in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, China, Nansha is one of the important international Container hub ports in South China, with advanced terminal facilities and efficient logistics network. Shekou, a part of Shenzhen, is also an important shipping center in southern China. It is famous for its convenient traffic conditions and developed economic environment.

Ho Chi Minh City is not only the largest city in Vietnam, but also its main economic center, which plays a vital role in promoting trade between Vietnam and other Country. As the largest deep-water port in Thailand, Laem Chaban is responsible for handling most of Thailand's import and export goods, especially in automobile manufacturing and EXP of parts.

Port Klang is located on the west coast of Malaysia, close to the capital Kuala Lumpur. It is one of the busiest ports in the country and a key node to enter the Southeast Asian market. Finally, as the fourth largest city in India, Chennai is not only the capital of Tamil Nadu, but also an important industrial base, especially in the fields of automobiles and information technology.

In addition, OOCL recently launched the new" China-Laem Chabang "service (CHL2), further enhancing its service capabilities in the Asian region. At the same time, the company's newly purchased ultra-large container ship "OOCL Iris" with a container capacity of 16,828 TEUs has also been put into use, which marks a solid step for OOCL in improving its shipping capacity and service quality.
