The Digital Container Container Shipping Association (DCSA) recently released the final versions of its Booking 2.0 and Bill of Lading 3.0 standards. These enhanced standards introduce new features for shippers and freight forwarders to improve safety, compliance and efficiency. DCSA aims to improve interoperability, efficiency and communication quality in Container's transportation industry by formulating a common framework for the industry.

In the latest electronic bill of lading (eBL), a new digital signature feature has been added, which not only strengthens the security of documents, but also simplifies the verification process. Furthermore, to support Import Control System 2 (ICS2), the new pre-declaration requirement for all goods entering or passing through the EU, Norway, Switzerland or Northern Ireland, more than 190 attributes have been added to the shipment instructions. This change reflects DCSA's commitment to meeting the evolving International rules and ensuring members can adapt smoothly to the new regulatory environment.

Thomas Bagge, CEO of DCSA, said: "We are very pleased to launch the final version of the Booking & Bill of Lading Standard, which will ensure seamless data exchange across the industry. These advances not only reduce costs through automation and reduce manual handling, but also lay the foundation for building a more connected and efficient global shipping ecosystem. ”
