On October 15, 2024, the Ocean Innovation Summit, hosted by Alfa Laval, will be held online from 9am to 11:15 a.m. Central European Time. The event will bring together professionals from the maritime industry to explore paths to sustainable shipping.

With achieving net-zero emissions targets a top priority for the maritime industry, the Ocean Innovation Summit 2024 provides an opportunity for the maritime industry to network with industry experts to explore transformative trends such as digitalization, port operations, connectivity, route planning, artificial intelligence, and more.

The event is free and open, and registration is now open. The event will be broadcast live from Alfa Laval's Headquarters in Lund, Sweden and Shanghai, China, at 9 a.m. Central European time.

The Ocean Innovation Summit is a platform that brings together industry experts to discuss advances in the global maritime industry and accelerate the transition to sustainable shipping. Topics discussed include difficulties and feasible solutions to reduce emissions in ports, the potential impact of artificial intelligence on shipping practices, strategies to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, and promoting sustainable innovation through collaboration.

Distinguished Speakers and Panel Discussions

The Ocean Innovation Summit 2024 will bring together industry leaders from well-known shipping companies, environmental councils and research institutions for a two-hour live-streamed event. The summit will feature two panel discussions. The topic of Panel One is "Why is it so difficult to reduce emissions in ports?" Panel Two will explore "Is AI not having any impact on shipping, or …?"

One of the highlights of the summit was a keynote address by Dr. Uwe Lauber, CEO and Chief Sales Officer of Mann Energy Solutions. He will deliver key insights around the topic "Maritime Energy Transition: Can the shipping/maritime sector achieve net zero emissions by 2050?".

Future Green Ships Project Lead Frederick Schur Rees will serve as the summit's motivational speaker. In his presentation, he will highlight how progress can be made in the maritime sector through collaboration to drive sustainable innovation.
